Update to the Congregation from the Session

Motions made and approved by Session at the meeting of

October 18, 2009

1. Approved the Finance operating statements of August 2009.
2. Approved $7,014 for repair of air conditioning equipment in Fellowship Hall
3. Approved the the establishment of a transition/coaching team for Dr. Ron Smith – new pastor. Robin Poole to convene the first meeting.
4. Approved the establishment of a pastor support/coaching group for Dr. Ron Smith – new pastor. The PNC will serve as the initial group, through the first quarter of 2010. . Session will define how the group will be constituted in the first quarter 2010.
5. Approved the Hospitality MG with the support of Property MG to provide exterior Christmas decorations in front of the church.
6. Approved the baptisms of Jacob Tolle, son of Charles and Angela Tolle on 10/18 and Allison Erbes, daughter of Joe and Cheryl Erbes at a future date.
7. Approved a contribution of $2,500 from the Youth for moving expenses for Dr. Smith.
8. Approved the Finance Ministry Group to set the amount of contribution for the Shared Mission Support to the Presbytery
9. Approved reinstating Twyla and Bob Dague to membership of FPCM, transferring Steve and Jan Buchanon to First Presbyterian Church of Deland and placing Gary Chavez on the inactive list of FPCM.
10. Approved December 2, 2009 as the termination date of Dr. Iwerks employment contract.
