FPCMaitland Out in the Community

010_10Did you know that every kernel of corn is attached to a piece of silk? Or that one pound of corn will feed three hungry people in Central Florida? Such were the lessons learned as a large contingency of FPCMaitland volunteers went out to the corn fields of Zellwood on a very HOT day in October to glean corn for the St. Andrews Society. Miriam Circle along with friends, family and FPC youth harvested thousands of pounds of corn.

While not as large a group, but an equally important cause FPCMaitland had 12 walkers in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Anita Raike, Brenda Svendby, Carol Helander, Cheryl Erbes, Delores Grantham, Faye Moths, Jeff McLain, Kathy McLain, Laurie Rodriguez, Mary Louise Wells, Robin Poole, and Sandy Bishop walked to raise $1,673. Special thanks to all members of the congregation that helped to support the walkers.
