A special thank you from the Mission Outreach Ministry Group for your contributions of food over the holidays and especially  to E26 (Youth) and CECE for food drives during this period of critical need.  Your contributions of $645 to “Dollars for the Food Barrel” were sent to Second Harvest for the accounts of 5 agencies that regularly receive food from our Food Barrel.  These dollars provided the equivalent of 2,580 meals for hungry people!.

Your Two Cents per Meal gifts for 2009 totaled $6,844.18, the second highest in Central Florida Presbytery.  Two Cents funds locally go to Second Harvest and to Society of St. Andrew for direct food aid.  Funds to overseas partners—AIR Guatemala, Haiti/CODEP ( all funds in 2010 are designated for emergency response)and Madagascar go for long-range improvements in cultural practices, severe erosion control,  production of fruits and vegetables and fish culture.

Please continue to remember the needy in this community and worldwide who month after month must choose between buying food, paying rent or keeping electricity on as well as supplying other basic needs.  Thank you for sharing.
