Who: Maitland Symphony Orchestra
What: Spring Concert:
“ONCE UPON A TIME…”
Where: The First Presbyterian Church of Maitland
When: Sunday, May 20th at 7:30 p.m.
Why: To entertain children of all ages who love
stories and the music that belongs with them.

You will enjoy music on the “light side” from Harry Potter to
Indiana Jones to the Pink Panther. The evening’s adventures
will take you to the “wild side” with the “Bacchanale” from
Samson and Delilah to Ravel’s Bolero, to the “Sabre Dance”
of Khachaturian. Special guest cellist Norma Huff will be
featured in “The Poet and Peasant Overture“ by Franz von
Suppe.

Come hear storytelling weaving through the evening’s music and delight in this free concert open to all.

The core of the small group in the photo has been together for over 12 years. The group added new members in the last year. We grow together, serve together, worship together, and have fun together. All our lives are richer since we joined a small group.

Open Registration for CECE Has Begun

Open Registration for the CECE school year 2012-2013 has begun.
The CECE preschool program serves Toddlers 12-17 months (walking) through VPK (four year olds).
The registration fee for 2012-2013 is $225.

A Sample Small Group Project

A note from the Bill Baker Small Group: We loaded the bags this past Sunday to be distributed to Lovell Elementary in Apopka and Altamonte Elementary schools. Bags of Hope is a non-profit run by a teacher out of her garage that hands out 250-260 bags on Friday to provide food for kids who literally have nothing. Some are almost homeless in some way, shape, or form. We loaded only the supplemental part of the food bag that is provided. The part that we loaded allowed each recipient to get the snacks that they need for snack time. Otherwise they would have nothing. It’s critical for the children to be like the other children. The 250 bags we loaded will only last a week. The teachers identify who is truly in need and sometimes there is not enough to go around.
